๐ค Who Built This
๐ Full Transparency โ How This Site Actually Works
Most "about" pages on comparison sites are vague about where the content comes from. This one isn't. Here is exactly how OSALFinder produces every page you read.
-
Live data is scraped daily A GitHub Actions pipeline runs every day at 6 AM UTC. It scrapes real GitHub star counts, recent commit activity, and community discussion signals for every tool covered. This is real data โ not guesses.
-
AI generates the comparison content Groq (Llama 3.3 70B) is the primary AI. Google Gemini Flash is the fallback. A structured prompt feeds the live tool data to the model and asks it to produce a detailed comparison โ pricing table, feature comparison, migration steps, Our Take, FAQ. If both APIs fail, a code-based template generates a minimal page instead.
-
Meta and dates are extracted automatically The AI also outputs a meta description and a staggered publish date for each page. These are parsed programmatically โ no manual input.
-
A Python script builds the static site The AI output is combined with scraped data, difficulty ratings, and affiliate links by a Python publisher script. The result is a static HTML site deployed to GitHub Pages with the custom domain osalfinder.com.
-
The whole cycle repeats every 24 hours No human reviews each page before it goes live. The quality control is in the prompt design, the structured data inputs, and the fallback logic โ not manual editorial oversight. If something is wrong, it gets corrected when reported.
๐ What Makes the Content Useful Despite Being AI-Generated
Most AI comparison pages are thin because the AI is working from general training knowledge alone. OSALFinder's content is grounded in live, structured data that goes into every prompt:
| What goes into the prompt | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Real-time GitHub star counts and trajectory | Reflects current community health, not stale training data |
| Published pricing scraped from official sources | Pricing tables are accurate as of the last daily rebuild |
| Self-hosting difficulty ratings (hand-coded per tool) | Consistent 1โ5 scale with time estimates and setup methods |
| Known migration paths and import formats | Migration steps reference real tools, not generic advice |
| Affiliate link status per tool | Commercial relationships are disclosed on every relevant page |
The AI's job is to turn that structured data into readable, useful prose โ not to invent facts. That distinction is what separates these pages from generic AI content.
๐๏ธ Open Data
Every comparison on this site is also published as structured, machine-readable data โ rebuilt on the same daily schedule as the site itself, so it's never more than a day stale.
| Resource | What it's for |
|---|---|
| /data/comparisons.json | Full dataset โ every tool pair, pricing, category, and slug in one JSON file |
| /llms.txt | Plain-text index for AI assistants and research agents, linking each comparison to its canonical URL |
| /changelog/ | What changed and when, page by page |
| /stats/ | Aggregate pricing statistics across the full dataset |
If you're citing a number from this site โ in an article, an AI-generated answer, or your own research โ please link back to the specific comparison page rather than this dataset in general; each page states the date its data was last verified.
โ ๏ธ What This Site Does Not Do
In the interest of full transparency:
- No one has personally tested every tool on this site. The comparisons are AI-generated from public data, not from hands-on user experience with each product.
- Pricing figures are scraped and AI-summarised. They may lag behind recent changes. Always verify at the official website before making a purchasing or migration decision.
- The "Our Take" and "FAQ" sections are AI opinions based on publicly available information โ not expert human analysis.
- No human reviews each page before it publishes. Errors can and do appear. When they are reported, they are corrected within 24 hours.
If you find an error, please open a GitHub issue or email [email protected].

Affiliate relationships do not determine which tools are covered or what the comparison says. The set of tools covered is fixed in the source code. The AI is not prompted to favour any tool based on commission rates.
